Standard door hanger material options
As default our door hangers are printed on 350gsm silk paper. To break this down, 350gsm refers to the paper weight or the thickness, and 350gsm is like a high quality business card. Silk paper is paper that has a slight silky sheen to it, but not glossy. It is pleasant to the touch and can be written on with a ballpoint pen, should you wish to. This is helpful for hotel and spa door hangers, as sometimes specific check out times may vary.
However, we do offer thinner (200gsm, 250gsm) or thicker (400gsm) silk paper, if you’re looking for something a little lighter or heavier.
Alternative door hanger material options
If you’re keen to reduce your environmental footprint, we offer recycled uncoated paper for door hanger printing. Recycled paper is best for reducing your environmental impact, and as it is uncoated it can be easily recycled again after use. It also uses less energy to produce than standard Silk paper, as it doesn’t go through the coating process. We also offer standard uncoated paper that hasn’t been fully recycled, but can easily be recycled after use. Both these paper stocks are available in a wide range of gsm weights.
We also offer waterproof stock for door hangers. This a very popular choice, as it means the door hangers can be more easily wiped clean and disinfected and then reused. This has become even more popular since the pandemic, as hotels and spas look to reduce waste but still keep their customers safe.
Waterproof paper is also incredibly helpful for any external door hangers – for example on the outer door of your hotel reception. Direct your customers to a phone number, a parking space or the check in desk, without worrying that your signage will become limp and illegible.
